Coal Workers Push Back Against False Ads

” Coal miners in Ohio gathered to denounce false ads being run by the Obama campaign that claim that employees of the Century Mine were forced to attend a Mitt Romney rally held in August. The workers stood behind a podium in their work gear and blasted the lies and misrepresentations of the mainstream media and the Obama campaign.

The mine’s owner Robert Murray read letters signed by nearly 500 of his mining employees, one of them addressed to President Obama.

“There are numerous false statements and absolute lies concerning our participation in this event, mostly started by a local ‘shock jock’ radio host,” the miners’ letter to Obama states. “Why would you [Obama] lie about the 500 working miners who have signed this letter? We, the employees of the Century Mine would request you immediately stop these false ads.” ”
