Obama’s “Become The Very Danger The Constitution Was Designed To Avoid”

Turley

” REP. BOB GOODLATTE (R-VA): Professor Turley, the constitution, the system of separated powers is not simply about stopping one branch of government from usurping another. It’s about protecting the liberty of Americans from the dangers of concentrated government power. How does the president’s unilateral modification of act of Congress affect both the balance of power between the political branches and the liberty interests of the American people?

JONATHAN TURLEY: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. The danger is quite severe. The problem with what the president is doing is that he’s not simply posing a danger to the constitutional system. He’s becoming the very danger the Constitution was designed to avoid. That is the concentration of power in every single branch. “

Our resident “constitutional scholar” has raised the stakes of Statism to new highs . If ever there was a president worthy of being served articles of impeachment Obama is the one . He has certainly made Nixon look like a rank amateur and has single-handedly provided us with a real imperial presidency . Rule by fiat is where we are at this point if our leader can arbitrarily enforce or ignore the laws as he sees fit .

In case the reader thinks that we are being a tad theatrical in our description of our despotic leader read what the AudioEnglish dictionary has as a definition of despotism and decide for yourself if the current leadership does or does not fit the bill . We quote :

” DESPOTISM (noun)
The noun DESPOTISM has 2 senses:

1. dominance through threat of punishment and violence
2. a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)”

Can anyone deny that Obama has used threats to get his way ? Has he abided by the restraints established by our Founders as codified in the Constitution ? How many times has he bypassed Congress and the Courts to force a policy on the people ?I f you are skeptical of our contention based on the above definition of despotism allow us to point to the two senses of the word that follow the definition . Again we quote :

” Sense 1 despotism

Meaning:

Dominance through threat of punishment and violence

Synonyms:

absolutism; despotism; tyranny

Hypernyms (“despotism” is a kind of…):

ascendanceascendancyascendenceascendencycontroldominance (the state that exists when one person or group has power over another)”

Sense one does less to clarify our argument but we still contend that the man governs by threats and intimidation of which there is ample evidence , but sense two should open the reader’s eyes to the building tyranny .

” Sense 2 despotism

Meaning:

A form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)

Synonyms:

shogunateauthoritarianismCaesarismtyrannydictatorshipmonocracyone-man rule;totalitarianismStalinismabsolutism; despotism

Hypernyms (“despotism” is a kind of…):

autarchyautocracy (a political system governed by a single individual)

Hyponyms (each of the following is a kind of “despotism”):

police state (a country that maintains repressive control over the people by means of police (especially secret police) “

There is a police state being constructed right under our very noses and while we will admit that the process started long before Obama rose to power the fact remains that he has advanced the cause of Statism and diminished the very checks and balances of our political system more in 5 years than have all the preceding presidents combined .

Hypocrisy On ‘Paperwork Prosecutions’ Highlighted By Reese Case

” “Nearly 80,000 Americans were denied guns in 2010, according to Justice Department data, because they lied or provided inaccurate information about their criminal histories on background-check forms,” The New York Times reported in January. “Yet only 44 of those people were charged with a crime.

“How many prosecutions “have you taken up for failing a background check since you’ve been U.S. Attorney?” Graham asked Walsh, who admitted “Off the top of my head, I’m not aware of any.”

“What kind of deterrent is that?” Graham challenged. “Why aren’t we prosecuting people who fail a background check?”

“It’s a paper thing,” Chief Flynn shot back when it was his turn to answer questions. “I want to stop the 76,000 people who are buying guns illegally. If you think we’re going to do paperwork prosecutions, you’re wrong.” ”

These laws obviously don’t work so let’s pass more  , maybe one of them will . What a way to run a country . So much for “Land Of The Free” .

So if next to none of these violators merited prosecution does that mean they have the same friends as David Gregory ?
