Rand Paul & Scott Walker Lead In NH

Published on May 18, 2015

” A new poll in New Hampshire puts Rand Paul and Scott Walker in first place among GOP candidates in the Granite State. Hillary Clinton still leads among Democrats, but she is showing some weakness. Hear why.”

Walker Thrills A Packed House At CPAC

” Scott Walker hit all the right notes when he took the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday to address a standing-room-only crowd — even gamely handling a heckler.

Walker was talking up Republicans’ push to pass a right-to-work law in Wisconsin, a measure to weaken labor unions, when a heckler stood up and began shouting in the packed ballroom. What he said wasn’t clear, but Walker handled it like a pro: He quipped, “Apparently the protesters come [here] from Wisconsin as well.”

The governor, considered a top contender in the 2016 Republican presidential primary, got a quick standing ovation for his response — one of a number he got during his address.

After spending some time touting his strong domestic record as governor of Wisconsin, Walker sharply criticized the Obama administration for its ineffective strategy in the fight against the Islamic State, and its disapproval of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming address before Congress.”

Judging from the venom dripping from the fangs of the Statist media , the potential of a Scott Walker candidacy is a terrifying possibility , which is surely a sign that the democratic cheerleaders of the press consider him a serious threat .

” Howard Dean thinks Governor Scott Walker isn’t qualified to be President because he doesn’t have a college degree.. really what does having a college degree prove… President Obama has one and he is as incompetent a President as we’ve ever had.. and if Howard Dean thinks having a college degree in some reality proves you’re smart.. well we submit to him as indisputable evidence to the contrary the following... “

Koch Event Drawing 2016 Hopefuls Rubio, Paul, Cruz, Walker

” Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is sending clear signs about an expected run for the presidency in 2016.

The first-term Republican lawmaker planned to join several other potential candidates at a gathering Sunday in Palm Springs, California, organized by the conservative billionaire Koch brothers, who have a keen interest in the party’s contenders.

More than 450 allies and donors to the Koch network were to attend, with the closing event a panel discussion with Rubio and fellow Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas on domestic policy.

The organizer, Freedom Partners, is the central hub for the political machine backed by wealthy industrialists Charles and David Koch. The traditionally private Koch group planned to let reporters watch an Internet broadcast of the event.

Over the past two days, Rubio met with his main group of 300 supporters on Miami’s South Beach, and he intended to skip the Senate’s schedule for the upcoming week for fundraisers on the West Coast, Texas and Illinois. Future visits are expected to Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, states that play a critical early role in the nominating process.”

Homes Raided, Subpoenas Issued Targeting Conservative Groups And Allies Of Scott Walker

” In Wisconsin, dozens of conservative groups and allies of Gov. Scott Walker are undergoing political intimidation from the left at the hands of a special prosecutor.

Subpoenas have been issued demanding correspondence and donor information of right-leaning organizations and individuals and raids have been conducted resulting in law enforcement officers taking computers and files in a secret investigation, according to reports.

“In recent weeks, special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has hit dozens of conservative groups with subpoenas demanding documents related to the 2011 and 2012 campaigns to recall Governor Walker and state legislative leaders,” the Wall Street Journal writes.”

The use of taxpayer funds and taxpayer salaried employees to stifle political opponents is something more akin to banana republics than our “representative” type of government , yet here it is on display yet again , this time at the state level .

” “A person who has seen one of the Wisconsin search warrants tells us that the warrants were executed based on the request of Dean Nickel, who filed an affidavit for probable cause.,” the WSJ reported. “Mr. Nickel is a former head of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Public Integrity Unit and has worked as an investigator for the GAB. Mr. Nickel told us he is a contractor for the GAB but wouldn’t discuss the John Doe probe. GAB Director and General Counsel Kevin Kennedy declined to comment.”

While gagged by provisions and the subpoenas, a source close to Watchdog.org told the Wisconsin Reporter they believe this is a taxpayer funded campaign simply for opposition research purposes.”

Richard M Nixon may be the first politician that comes to mind when one thinks “enemies lists” but Obama and the Dem’s of the 21st century are showing him to be the rank amateur that he really was . Opposition research has never been so expensive to the American taxpayer as it has become under Obama .

WI Gov Scott Walker Defies Feds, Keeps Parks Open

” Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s administration defied the federal government by refusing to close  popular state properties at the behest of the National Park Service.

The park service ordered state officials to close the northern unit of the Kettle Moraine, Devil’s Lake, and Interstate state parks and the state-owned portion of the Horicon Marsh, but state authorities rebuffed the request because the lion’s share of the funding came from state, not federal coffers.”

On CPAC’s Last Day, Conservatives Close With A Rising Star

” It’s the last day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, which will culminate in a keynote address by up-and-coming Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. As NPR’s David Welna reports,

“Though he’s only been a senator since January, this will be the third year Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is addressing CPAC. This former Texas solicitor general and Tea Party favorite got top billing at the conference after aggressively questioning former GOP senator Chuck Hagel during Hagel’s confirmation hearing to be secretary of defense.”

Also scheduled to speak are Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Newt Gingrich, Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin. (CPAC has the full schedule on its website.)”

News Busters :

“Over the previous four episodes, Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom has become the liberal media’s Sunday night darling. So, after the July 15th offering, which featured fictional news anchor Will MacAvoy comparing Tea Party members to sex offenders, a little conservative-bashing was expected. The July 22 episode did not disappoint, with the team at “Atlantic Cable News” delving into the Citizen’s United Supreme Court case and effectively accusing Clarence Thomas of bribery. “

This sort of programming , which is predominant in the prime time schedule should be counted as in kind contributions to the democratic party .

“MSNBC Rocked …

“MSNBC Rocked By Wisconsin Vote Results”

Ed Schultz Unhinged

So ironic to hear the party of “President Fundraiser” bemoan the corrupting influence of money on our political system . LOL

“Former DNC chairman and governor of Vermont Howard Dean appeared on MSNBC this morning to bemoan the extent to which Gov. Walker was able to outspend his opponent in the Wisconsin recall. Really, now? Candidate Obama outspent John McCain’s campaign by one of the widest margins evah, but when you don’t get the outcome you want, all that darned money in politics is suddenly not okay?”

Not that it really comes as a surprise , after all I did publish a post yesterday entitled ” Win or Lose There Will Be Blood “ , but I was taken quite unawares by the vehemence immediately displayed on Twitter by the so called ” party of tolerance and civil discourse ” on learning of their defeat at the hands of Wisconsin’s citizens .

Considering the fact that the entire recall mess was just another hissy fit in response to an election result of which they did not approve and the progs known proclivities for violent behavior , this latest display of “leftist graciousness ” should be a lesson to all of the less astute political observers in the land .

Behold some of what passes for courteous behavior on the left side of the aisle .

“Please somebody kill Scott Walker.”

“Scott walker will die within the next week ive already payed for the hit”

“Scott walker needs fall down the capital stairs & die..”

This is the crowd that desires us on the other side of the aisle to exhibit ” bipartisanship ” ? That’s akin to sitting down and negotiating with terrorists ( oops , my bad ) isn’t it ?

Jim Geraghty on Scott Walker

“Believe it or not, by winning his recall election –  by a 57 percent to 42 percent margin at this hour – Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has done his foes – the Wisconsin Democratic Party, the public sector unions, the progressives and angry leftists – a favor “

“You know that old Democrat saying“If you can’t win, cheat!” “

So , He’s been phoning it in his whole life .

If you live in Wisconsin – VOTE TODAY

With the US Dept of Obama Justice on the scene to facilitate er , watch for fraud this will be close . The dead will rise undoubtedly as will bus loads of out of staters voters . Make sure your vote counts .

“The U.S. Department of Justice has sent poll monitors to Milwaukee–and only Milwaukee, where Democrats need to run up the numbers in order to overcome a large deficit in the polls. When Republican Mark Kirk spoke about the need to protect the integrity of the vote in urban areas during his 2010 U.S. Senate race, Democrats accused him of racism.

Turnout will be the key to victory in the statewide recall election, in which not only Walker but also Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and three Republican senators are being challenged. The recall election was once seen as an important battle over the power of public employee unions, but the unions’ favored candidate lost the Democratic primary to Barrett, and Walker’s reforms to collective bargaining have saved jobs and money for the state and local governments.”

Yes turnout is key . And if turnout can be kept to just the residents and the living Scott Walker should do fine but with Holder’s voting team present nothing can be taken for granted , and let us not forget the union’s capacity for chicanery . Be vigilant my friends .

From Professor Jacobson we get an inkling of the Left’s plans for Wisconsin … and by extension perhaps the US after the recall election .

Worker’s World reports that there are widespread actions planned for Wisconsin on June 6, the day after the recall election takes place:

…Fighters from Occupy Wall Street, unions and independent organizations are organizing “Keep It in the Streets” actions to take place in cities statewide on June 6. (occupywi.org) For example, Occupy Milwaukee is sponsoring a rally at Pier Marquette Park in Milwaukee at 5 p.m., followed by a march to the banking district.

The facebook page for the June 6 action; note carefully the list of “endorsers”:

On June 5th we vote. On June 6th we keep it in the streets! Join Occupy Wisconsin and dozens of community allies and labor unions to march on June 6th to make the following demands of our Governor:

1. Repeal Act 10 – Hands off unions and collective bargaining. No cuts to education or Badger Care.
2. Restore the Equal Pay Act – We demand and end to workplace discrimination.
3. Tax the 1% – Hold the banksters and the 1% accountable for their economic crisis, and stop the cuts to working and oppressed people. “

Let victory come tomorrow and in November . Save the Republic .

“If a new poll taken by Democrats is accurate, the recall race in Wisconsin is closer than the conventional wisdom indicates. Democratic pollster Celinda Lake contends that Republican Governor Scott Walker and his Democratic challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, are now tied at 49 percent. The election takes place on June 5th and many believe it is a bellwether indicator of national sentiment going into the general election in November.

Here’s hoping for a good day tomorrow in Wisconsin .

“Turnout will be the key to Wisconsin’s gubernatorial recall election on Tuesday—and polls and early voting suggest Republican Gov. Scott Walker holds an edge over Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

Ensuring Walker maintains that edge is the job of Jason Pipes.

He is one of thousands of grassroots activists engaged in Wisconsin’s divisive June 5 recall elections.

Pipes, 38, drives a hulking 1974 Pinzgauer all-terrain military utility vehicle. Pro-Walker signs line the side of the truck, and the bed is filled with boxes of Walker yard signs and stickers. He sports a Walker hat and t-shirt.”

Ignore us at your peril .

  “The 4,000 Wisconsin tea-
party activists rallying at Gorney Park this morning were a “red” crowd.
But on stage, Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch was
working blue. Kleefisch, who is facing a recall challenge on
Tuesday from Madison firefighter Mahlon Mitchell, began her fiery speech by invoking David and Goliath. She likened the “big union
bosses from out of state” to Goliath, accusing them of coming to Wisconsin to “pick a fight with David.” Kleefisch pointed out that in the story, David had five stones, then rattled off a number of the reforms Governor Scott Walker
enacted, calling them her “stones.” “

Cautiously Optimistic

Let’s all hope that this turns out to be an accurate representation of public sentiment . It would certainly remove a generous portion of candy out of the union’s pinata .

This man possesses some of that spine that is in scant supply inside the Beltway .

“He is the most ill-prepared person to assume the presidency in my lifetime,” Christie told some 600 Kentucky Republicans at a Lexington hotel. “This is a guy who literally is walking around in a dark room trying to find the light switch of leadership.”

This demonstrates the value of  governorships as incubators of real leadership . They actually have to take responsibility for their decisions unlike congressional denizens .
Who besides governors are actually dealing with the issues of the day ? Think Scott Walker , Jan Brewer , Bobby Jindal , Chris Christie .

“Now listen,” he said, “this country’s problems are too serious, too serious, to spend another
day with a bystander in the oval office.”

Professor Jacobson has thoughtfully pointed out that the Wisconsin recall gambit is hemorrhaging support at an amazing clip . If you are of the left and you’ve lost the press you are doomed .

“No governor in recent memory has been so controversial. No governor in America is so polarizing. Everyone has an opinion about Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

Here’s ours: We see no reason to remove Walker from office. We recommend him in the June 5 recall election.

Walker’s rematch with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was prompted by one issue: Walker’s tough stance with the state’s public-employee unions. It’s inconceivable that the recall election would be occurring absent that. And a disagreement over a single policy is simply not enough to justify a vote against the governor.

A Marquette Law School Poll in January showed that many people in the Badger State agree. In that poll, 72% of Republicans, 44% of independents and 17% of Democrats said recalls should be limited to criminal wrongdoing. Republican state Rep. Robin Vos has proposed tightening the recall mechanism; he should continue to push for that after the election, regardless of who wins.”

I find the above referenced poll results concerning attitudes towards the recall mechanism particularly revealing . It gives one a fine indication as to who believes that they can stand on the merits of their arguments and who feels that any means is acceptable in order to get their way . Remind me again of the left’s commitment to the sanctity of the ballot box .
