LAPD Fatal Shooting Of Man Caught On Tape

” Authorities said Sunday night that Los Angeles police fatally shot a man on skid row during a struggle over an officer’s weapons.

Police officials offered a detailed account of what they say prompted the Sunday morning shooting, which was captured on video by a bystander.

Cmdr. Andrew Smith said officers assigned to the LAPD’s Central Division and Safer Cities Initiative — a task force focused on skid row — responded to the location about noon Sunday after receiving a 911 call reporting a possible robbery.

Smith said the officers approached the man and made contact with him, at which point he “began fighting and physically resisting the officers.” The officers attempted to take him into custody and at one point, attempted to use a Taser that Smith said was “ineffective.”

The man continued to resist police, Smith said, and the man and some of the officers fell to the ground.

” At some point in there, a struggle over one of the officer’s weapons occurred,” Smith said. “At that point an officer-involved shooting happened.”

Two officers and a sergeant fired at the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said. It was unclear how many times the officers fired, although at least five shots can be heard on the video recording that captured the shooting.

No other gun was recovered at the scene, Smith said. It was unclear if the man had any other weapons among his possessions — investigators were still combing the scene late Sunday night.

The man has been tentatively identified, but Smith said it was unclear if he was homeless.”

2 Gunmen Open Fire On Los Angeles Police Car

” Two men opened fire on a police car patrolling a tough part of Los Angeles, but the two officers inside were not injured and one was able to shoot back, authorities said Monday. One of the suspects was later arrested and the other is on the loose.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the Sunday night shooting in South Los Angeles – an area plagued by gang violence – but said there were no indications it was linked to other attacks on police in the country.

“ It was a complete unprovoked attack,” LAPD Deputy Chief Bob Green said initially. “They were just driving on the street, and somebody struck out and tried to kill two policemen.”

The two officers were responding to an unrelated radio call and driving slowly in a neighborhood when they saw two men on a sidewalk and the flash of a rifle being fired, police said.

The officers stopped their car, and one got out and returned fire as the men fled. Police found one suspect, uninjured, a short time later along with a rifle and another weapon.”

Man Killed By LAPD Said To Be Street Performer With Plastic Prop Knife; Cops Accused Of Planting Real Knife

” Los Angeles police gunned down a man at a busy Hollywood intersection Friday night, claiming he had been trying to attack them with a knife, causing them to fear for their lives, which is why they fired several rounds, leaving his body laying on a corner as shocked witnesses looked on.

But some locals are saying the man was merely a street performer known as “J” who would pose with tourists holding a prop knife made of plastic.”

LAPD Shoots, Kills Black Man During ‘Investigative Stop’

” The Los Angeles Police Department shot and killed a black man in South L.A. on Monday.

Police conducted an “investigative stop” in the Newton area around 8:20 p.m., according to a news release from the LAPD. “During the stop a struggle ensued, which resulted in an officer-involved-shooting. It is unknown if the suspect has any gang affiliations,” the release continues. “The suspect was transported to a local hospital and after lifesaving efforts he succumbed to his injuries.”

A woman claiming to be the deceased man’s mother called KTLA and identified the man as Ezell Ford. Tritobia Ford said her son was lying on the ground and complying with the officers when he was shot three times

An unnamed man who claimed to be Ezell Ford’s cousin also spoke with KTLA.

“ They laid him out and for whatever reason, they shot him in the back, knowing mentally, he has complications. Every officer in this area, from the Newton Division, knows that — that this child has mental problems,” he said. “The excessive force … there was no purpose for it. The multiple shootings in the back while he’s laying down? No. Then when the mom comes, they don’t try to console her … they pull the billy clubs out.”

LAPD Scouring For Shotgun That Fell From Officer’s Motorcycle

” The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a shotgun that fell off an officer’s motorcycle on Thursday. Parts of West Martin Luther King Boulevard in South Los Angeles were on lockdown for a few hours as the LAPD searched for the missing weapon; as of Friday, the shotgun has still not been found.

It is reported that the locking mechanism on the mount of the officer’s motorcycle broke, causing the shotgun to fall free. Normally, the shotgun is attached to a motorcycle horizontally with the barrel facing toward the front of the bike, secured in place with a clip and Velcro strap. The LAPD is supposedly making a transition to a vertical shotgun holsters for all of their motorcycles. It has not been made clear if the weapon, which is either a Benelli M4 or a Remington 870 shotgun, according to the LAPD’s list of equipment, was loaded or not.”

Apparently the LA cops are no more successful at controlling their animals than they are their shotguns as it has been reported that during the search for the missing scattergun an officer was bitten by a police K9 and had to undergo surgery .

Reason-Rupe Poll: Half of Americans Think Cops Not Held Accountable

” The April 2014 Reason-Rupe poll found that half of Americans think law enforcement officers are not held accountable for misconduct. That number rises to 64 percent for Hispanics and 66 percent for African Americans.

Do you think police officers are generally held accountable for misconduct, or not?

• Yes: 46 percent

• No: 50 percent

• Don’t know: 4 percent

Police misconduct is reviewed through internal affairs investigations, a process that has officers investigating other officers. In February 2013, Los Angeles Police Department officer Sunil Dutta wrote in the Washington Post about his time working as an internal affairs investigator. Dutta criticized the process, saying that it didn’t help a community’s perception of the police and didn’t help officers either:

[When] I interviewed community members who had filed complaints against officers, I was disappointed to learn that, despite my reassurances and best efforts to conduct impartial inquiries, many complainants believed that a fair investigation was simply not possible. Nor do misconduct investigations satisfy a skeptical public. If an officer is exonerated, the community often believes that malfeasance is being covered up.

” Driver Killed in Downtown LA After Hour Long Police Pursuit
Pursuit of Silver Corvette Comes to Violent End in Downtown L.A.

Authorities continued to investigate Saturday after a man who led police on a high-speed pursuit through Los Angeles for more than an hour Friday night died after he crashed into another car and was shot by police.

The chase began before 9:30 p.m. as sheriff’s deputies pursued the silver Corvette for reckless driving, officials said.

” There was great concern that he was going to hurt someone severely,” LAPD Lt. Andy Neiman said.

Deputies abandoned the chase and left a helicopter over the car as it sped through surface streets near Huntington Park in Cudahy. Minutes later, CHP officers began pursuing the driver as it drove with it lights off through neighborhoods.

The LAPD then picked up the pursuit, adding to the multitude of squad cars chasing the Corvette, which eventually turned its headlights back on as it sped through South Los Angeles.

By 10:30 p.m., the pursuit moved into downtown Los Angeles when the Corvette slammed into another car as it drove westbound through the intersection of South Los Angeles Street and East Olympic Boulevard.

” It did look like a very violent collision, very traumatic,” Neiman said.

The second car sheared a fire hydrant after it was slammed into by the Corvette. The drivers of that car ran out of the car and were later taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Corvette slid and stopped, and the driver stumbled out of the car.

” The suspect got out of the vehicle and at that point, something occurred that prompted the officer-involved shooting,” Neiman said.

Medics could be seen appearing to try to revive the suspect by performing CPR. His body was then taken from the scene. Police have confirmed to NBC4 that the suspect has died.

Neiman said that the officers involved in the shooting still need to be interviewed, and at this time, it is still early in the investigation.”

LAPD Holds Downtown Counterterrorism Drill

” Gunfire echoed through downtown and law enforcement helicopters swooped low among office towers Thursday, but it was all a drill as the Police Department’s counter-terrorism unit demonstrated a response to a weapon-of-mass-destruction threat.

The late-morning demonstration began with an explosion of flash grenades, officers firing blank ammunition at pretend suspects, and police rappelling out of a county Sheriff’s Department helicopter and onto a hotel bridge on Figueroa Street.”

Nearly as disturbing as the show of a militarized police force is the fact that the crowd was enthralled with this practice run for denying these same citizens their rights .

We’re Not Going To Have An “Adult Conversation” About State Violence, Are We?

” More than a week after first allegedly shooting the daughter of a police officer and her fiancée, the Christopher Dorner saga ended with him most likely burning up in a cabin in which he holed up this week. The police may have set the fire themselves. Another account has the police pushing Dorner back into the burning structure [8:34pm ET update].  Officially it’s still unclear how the fire began*. Nevertheless, at the end of it, four people were killed by a former police officer out on a vendetta against his former police force. And the LAPD responded by coming down on the city of Los Angeles for a week, shooting seemingly indiscriminately at targets that bore only the vaguest resemblance to Dorner and searching homes door to door. Almost comically, Dorner’s alleged manifesto included strong anti-gun sentiments. It’s useful to note here that most attempts at gun control include generous exemptions both for law enforcement and often ex-law enforcement. Feinstein’s bill does that. There was widespread panic when Cuomo’s anti-gun laws in New York didn’t.

Yet, Dorner, and ex-cops, aren’t the only ones that can be irresponsible gun owners. Earlier this week the attorney general of Ohio released an animation depicting how 13 cops managed to fire off an astonishing 137 rounds in under 30 seconds into a car with two unarmed passengers they pursued in a high speed chase after a phantom gunshot was heard in another town.”

Christopher Dorner Presumably Dead After Shootout, Fire; Charred Body Awaiting ID

Dorner Shootout 2

” Last night the manhunt for Christopher Dorner, the ex-LAPD officer hellbent on killing any LAPD officer and their family, is believed to have ended in a finale suitable for an action film. But it wasn’t a movie. Dorner’s rampage resulted in four people dead, five people injured and all of the Los Angeles area on edge.

Authorities decked out in full SWAT gear tracked Dorner in the Big Bear area, a ski resort town 80 miles east of LA, and eventually caught up with him. We know very little about what happened because authorities have revealed very few details about the incident as it is currently under investigation.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies working the Big Bear area search for Dorner responded to a reported stolen vehicle by a suspect who looked like Dorner at around 12:20 pm. Shortly after they tracked the suspect down, who fled into the woods and barricaded himself inside a cabin.

Deputies surrounded the building and a gun fight ensued. CBS reported that Dorner opened fire from the cabin with a .50-caliber rifle, which he said he had in what’s being called his manifesto. Two deputies were hit. One died later and the other underwent surgery and will survive his wounds.”

A nicely constructed piece on the continuing Dorner saga and the myriad contradictions in the official storyline .

Chris Dorner Body Not Yet Identified (MAJOR UPDATE)

From The Huffington Post Dated 2.13.13 @ 11:36 EST

Even their update headline is misleading . If you read the post you’ll see that according to Commander Andrew Smith investigators have not yet even entered the building because it is still too hot .

Huff Post Dorner Report

The video also seems to contradict the statement given by Commander Smith . If anyone knows the truth they are not saying at this time .

” Los Angeles Police Department told reporters that no body has been identified in the cabin in which Christopher Dorner was believed to have been hiding, following a shootout and fire.

No body has been located yet,” Commander Andrew Smith said, telling reporters that the building was still too hot for investigators to enter.

“That burned cabin has not even been entered by investigators yet,” Smith said. “We are still on a holding pattern to search that.”

Earlier reports had indicated that a body had been identified.

The standoff with Dorner, a former member of the LAPD, reached a violent close near a rustic cabin in the Big Bear ski area east of Los Angeles. Since Feb. 3, he’s accused of a crime spree that left four people dead, including two officers, and several others wounded in shootings in L.A. and nearby San Bernardino County.”

Dorner Believed Dead, According To Media Reports

”  A cabin where a fugitive ex-Los Angeles police officer was believed to have barricaded himself burned to the ground Tuesday night and Los Angeles police believe Christopher Dorner is dead, according to media reports.

A charred body was recovered from the ruins, and KTLA television reported that Los Angeles police said they believed it was that of Dorner.

A source in Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s office told NBC News that the police department had confirmed to the mayor that the body was Dorner’s.

Dorner had been on the run since they say he launched a campaign to exact revenge against the Los Angeles Police Department for his firing.”

Update: Cabin Where Ex-cop Believed Barricaded On Fire

California Manhunt: In this image taken from video provided by KABC-TV, the cabin in Big Bear, Calif. where ex-Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner is believed to be barricaded inside is in flames Tuesday. IMAGE

” BIG BEAR, Calif. — A cabin where a fugitive ex-Los Angeles police officer was believed to have barricaded himself was burning late Tuesday afternoon and a source told The Associated Press that no one had emerged from the building.

A man believed to be Christopher Dorner, who is sought in three killings, had fled to the cabin after a furious gunbattle with police in the snow-covered mountains of Southern California, authorities said. Two officers were injured in the gunfight, and one of them later died.

It was unclear how the fire started. CNN reported that tear gas was fired into the cabin.

As it burned, Cindy Bachman, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, told reporters that law enforcement officers had the building surrounded.

“We are planning on a long night,” Bachman said. “It’s an active crime scene. If this is Christopher Dorner, he is wanted for the murder of four people and the attempted murder of three others.” “

“We Are All Chris Dorner”? Left-Wing Sickos Support Accused Cop Killer

We Are All Chris Dorner

While we have no sympathy for the looming police state , of which LAPD is a prime purveyor , if Dorner was truly wronged we do not believe that killing innocents to prove your point is any different than the methods employed by terrorists the world over . It should come as no surprise however , given the left’s penchant for supporting the likes of Hezbollah and Hamas that they regard Christopher Dorner as a hero .

” Since former cop, Christopher Dorner allegedly shot and killed one police officer and injured two others, last Thursday,  police have been on a manhunt. He left behind a long manifesto spelling out his far left leanings, which include support for gun control, and admiration for the president, vice president, Hillary Clinton, and media personalities at CNN and MSNBC. Part one and two of the manifesto here and here.

Via Weasel Zippers, we find that left wingers on Facebook are rallying behind their cop-killing hero.

It’s hard to believe but there are those out there who sympathize with the man targeting police officers.

One Facebook page is proclaiming Dorner for president. “We propose electing a man who could no longer sit idly by and watch as malicious tyrants abuse the innocent.”

The description on “We Are All Chris Dorner” chillingly says, “Yes, this is war.”

Search For Suspected Cop Killer Shuts Down Schools, Ski Resort

” Several schools and a ski resort were put on lockdown Thursday as authorities continued their search for former LAPD officer and suspected killer Christopher Dornan.

Christopher Dorner, 33, a former Los Angeles police officer and Navy reservist, is the subject of a multi-agency manhunt spanning five counties. Dorner is believed to have shot at four police officers early Thursday morning, killing one and wounding two, and is also suspected in the murders of an Irvine couple on Sunday.

Norwalk Christian School, where Dorner attended, will be closed down for the rest of the week after Dorner mentioned it in his manifesto as the place where he first experienced racism, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

As the manhunt moved from Corona and Riverside and into the mountains of Big Bear, where Dornan’s burned-out truck was later found, schools have been placed on lockdown or were closed down all together.”

News Media Scrub Cop Murderer’s Manifesto of Pro-Obama, Hillary, MSNBC, CNN, Gay, and Anti-Gun Comments

” I’ve been following closely the news story about Chris Dorner, who is now suspected of murdering three people, including one police officer, and shooting another two police officers. He is targeting police and their families for what he says is a corrupt system that robbed him of his name and his life.

You can read all the details here.

However, I started noticing that some of the details the media was talking about didn’t fit the released manifesto I’ve read everywhere. Especially interesting, is that KFI’s morning news regurgitator Bill Handel had mentioned some pro-Obama comments and anti-NRA sentiments in the manifesto.

But these weren’t in the copy that KFI themselves released – see for yourself.

This video from FOX News Los Angeles reports that the manifesto was 22 pages long, while the manifesto released was only 11.”

Women Delivering Newspapers In Torrance Shot In Manhunt For Ex-Cop

” Two women who were shot by Los Angeles police in Torrance early Thursday during a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer were delivering newspapers, sources said.

The women, shot in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue, were taken to area hospitals, Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase said. They were not identified. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back, according to Jesse Escochea, who captured video of the victims being treated.

It was not immediately known what newspapers the women were delivering. After the shooting, the blue pickup was riddled with bullet holes and what appeared to be newspapers lay in the street alongside.

PHOTOS: Manhunt for ex-LAPD officer

Local, state and federal authorities are involved in a massive search for Christoper Jordan Dorner, 33, a former Los Angeles Police Department officer who is believed to have threatened “unconventional and asymmetrical warfare” against police in an online manifesto, and was suspected of shooting three police officers, one of whom died, early Thursday in Riverside County.

Dorner also is suspected of killing a couple in Orange County earlier this week.”

All we can say is , it’s a good thing California has such strick gun control laws , we can’t have inexperienced , armed citizens running around shooting up innocent civilians and the neighborhood can we ?  No , that’s a job for the trained professionals .

Jeez , just look at the photo , and the neighbor’s account … plus or minus 50 shots fired hit three hits , one a flesh wound to the hand .

Meanwhile down the block another wrongful shooting was taking place as well …

” TORRANCE, Calif. — A suspect manhunt led to two mistaken identity police shootings in Torrance within minutes and blocks of each other Thursday.

The first shooting occurred in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue at 5:20 a.m.

Authorities said officers came across vehicles similar to the one sought by authorities searching for Christopher Dorner, a former LAPD officer suspected of killing three people.

Dorner, 33, posted a manifesto on Facebook outlining plans to kill the families of those who wronged him. LAPD officers were guarding one of the officers on Dorner’s manifesto hit list when a blue Toyota truck matching the suspect’s vehicle drove up to the scene. Police opened fire and aimed dozens of rounds at the occupants of the truck who they mistakenly believed to be Dorner’s.

Two uninvolved female civilians inside the vehicle were wounded and rushed to local hospitals. One injured female victim suffered a minor bullet wound, and the second female victim was shot twice in the back and reported in stable condition.”

The victims are said to be OK but the barrage of bullets shook residents from their sleep. Howard Lee of Torrance was asleep when he said he heard “about 50 shots.”
