Thousands Of Cellphone Users Receive Government “Emergency Alert”

” Thousands of cellphone users in Kentucky were surprised to receive an “emergency alert” from the federal government warning them to “prepare for action,” a message local authorities later blamed on “human error” during testing.

The alert, which was was sent out to people in the Corbin and London areas of Southern Kentucky earlier today, came from the Emergency Operations Center in Frankfort via the Federal Communication Commission’s Wireless Emergency Alert system.

The messages are designed to warn local residents of immediate safety threats in their area, but some have criticized the “government alerts” as being invasive.

Frankfort Emergency Operations spokesman Buddy Rogers said that the alert was mistakenly sent out “during testing” and was the result of “a computer error, followed by a human error.”

Back in 2011, the FCC began to roll out emergency government alerts to cellphone users in major cities before the program was made mandatory on all new smartphones. Although a user can opt out of some of the alerts, presidential messages direct from the White House cannot be turned off.

This is not the first time that erroneous messages sent out via the government’s emergency alert system have caused consternation. “

Man Captures Road Rage Fight On Camera

” David Boggs said he was driving on I-71 on Sunday when two drivers started fighting on the highway.

According to Boggs, a man wearing denim shorts crashed his truck into a truck driven by the man wearing khaki shorts. That’s when Boggs said the man in the denim shorts yanked the other driver out of his car, then a woman who was with the man in the denim shorts sat on top of the other driver while the man in the denim shorts punched him.

” She jumps up on the hood and runs and does a weave move and jumps on top of him and helps knock him down. Then he starts beating him up. This girl she never got off of him even when I pulled away she was still sitting on top of him and the man who got hit he never was aggressive or nothing,” Boggs said.

Boggs said the man in the denim continued the punch the man who was down.”

Ky. State Police Won’t Investigate Teen’s Fatal Shooting Despite Cam Video Evidence

” Kentucky state police declined to investigate the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old woman by a sheriff’s deputy, saying the Boone County sheriff had waited too long to ask for help.

Deputy Tyler Brockman shot and killed Samantha Ramsey in the early hours of April 26 as she tried to drive away from a party in a field along the Ohio River.

The deputy, who was investigating reports of underage drinking, said he grabbed onto the hood of Ramsey’s 2001 Subaru with his left hand and felt the car beginning to speed up – so he thought the driver was about to kill him.

So he fired four shots into the car’s windshield, striking the Covington woman twice in the chest and once in each arm. The deputy initially believed he had fired just three rounds, investigators said.

She was pronounced dead a short time later at a nearby hospital.”

This is a travesty . The State police refuse to investigate because “too much time has passed” ? WTF ? If the victim was a cop there sure wouldn’t be any concern for time passed would there ? The Kentucky SP should be ashamed of themselves .

For those readers unfamiliar with this senseless killing you can read our original post here and read more on the KSP refusal to investigate here .

Remembering Sam And Asking Why

” Samantha Ramsey leaned over to her former high school classmate and said, “We’re best friends and always will be.” Those would be the last words Ramsey would tell her longtime friend Amanda Johnson.

An hour later, Ramsey, 19, of Covington was shot and killed by a Boone County Sheriff’s deputy early Saturday in a chaotic scene. Deputies were responding as dozens of young people were trying to leave a field party in the 6000 block of River Road.

Johnson was one of about 160 people who blocked River Road just west of Tanner Road for about an hour Sunday night as they gathered to remember their Ramsey, whom they knew by her childhood nickname, Sam.”

This young lady was killed by a deputy at a block party and whose only “crime” seems to have been panic .

” Ramsey died at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Florence after suffering four gunshot wounds. Authorities said Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Brockman discharged his weapon through the windshield of Ramsey’s car after she accelerated the vehicle instead of stopping as ordered.

Deputies said the vehicle struck Brockman, who landed on the hood of the car, but witness Chelsey Pendleton, 20, of Ludlow disputes that.

Pendleton, who was a backseat passenger in Ramsey’s car, said the deputy jumped on the hood from the side of the car.

” The cop was in the wrong,” she said. “I was there. I was in the back seat. That was unnecessary force. He had no right to do that.”

Pendleton also disputed deputies’ claims that Ramsey accelerated her vehicle.

” That was dead body weight on the gas pedal after she was shot,” Pendleton said.”

Taped Confrontation Between Teens, Police Leads To Arrest, Questions About First Amendment Rights

Airsoft Teens Arrested

” A video taped confrontation between teenagers and police led to an arrest and questions about a person’s first amendment rights.

It all started when a group of teenagers were on a field in Radcliff playing a military style game of airsoft.

A neighbor called the Radcliff Police Department, “I didn’t hear no weapons fire or anything like that,” the caller is heard telling the operator. “They may have been paintball rifles, I don’t know but it seemed odd,” she said.

” The officers they came out of the trees with their assault rifles and I was right over there,” Anderson recalled.

A GoPro camera was recording, when an officer noticed it he asked them to shut it off.

Seaman, who was next to the camera, told Anderson, “You don’t have to.”

The officer is then heard in the video saying to Seaman, “You want to go to jail friend?”

When Seaman did not give the officer his name, he was arrested.

” It sounds like a possible retaliation by police, retaliation is a strong word, but that’s what it is,” First Amendment expert Attorney Jon Fleischaker said.”

19 States Join Lawsuit Against NJ Gun Law

” Support is mounting for a lawsuit that challenges New Jersey’s tight restrictions on handgun ownership and its high standard of “justifiable need” for carrying a weapon outside the home.

Nineteen states as well as the powerful National Rifle Association have joined the case’s plaintiff John Drake, who in his lawsuit claims he was denied a permit following a thwarted robbery attempt on his Sussex County business.

Drake lost his appeal before a three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last year and now a growing number of states, led by Wyoming, are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case, claiming New Jersey was wrong when it determined that the business owner failed to prove “justifiable need” to carry a gun under state statute.

Drake’s suit also claims that his right to bear arms under the Second Amendment has been violated.”

FBI Video Shows Al Qaeda In Kentucky

Al Aqaeda Kentucky

” An al Qaeda-linked terrorist, who was resettled in the U.S. as an Iraq War refugee after allegedly killing American soldiers, was caught on camera in Kentucky handling heavy weapons that the FBI said he believed would be sent to insurgents back in Iraq.

The 2010 video, obtained exclusively by ABC News, was part of a broader ABC News investigation into the flawed refugee vetting program, which officials said may have let “dozens” of terrorists into the country.

In the video, Waad Ramadan Alwan is seen expertly field stripping what the FBI identified as a Russian PKM machine gun. Other still images provided by the FBI from hours-worth of surveillance footage show Alwan and an accomplice, Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, handling a Stinger missile launcher and a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher.”

See this companion story for more details on how the US government has allowed dozens or perhaps even hundreds of Al Qaeda operatives into the country under the guise of being “refugees” from political persecution …. sickening . They do a better job of keeping Americans off of planes than they do of keeping terrorists out of the country .

Disability Fraud Cost Taxpayers $2.5 Billion

SSI Fraud

” A Social Security Disability Office on the border of Kentucky and Huntington, W. Virginia, is at the center of federal investigations into the activities of SSD supervisors who turned over huge numbers of cases in order to boost their own bonuses. They set up shop with one attorney, an administrative law judge and several obliging doctors for several years.

“I’m flabbergasted,” said Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK), himself a physician, as he grilled witnesses for hours about the massive loss of taxpayer dollars.  “You abrogated your job as chief judge,” Senator Coburn told Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Charlie Andrus.  The alleged misdeeds of Judge David B. Daugherty were heard without his direct testimony because he fled the hearing room before proceedings began. And the attorney in question, Eric Conn, took the fifth on the advice of his own attorney.

Most pitiful to watch was the testimony of four female witnesses who told the Governmental Affairs Committee about numerous incidences of retaliation by SSD managers, supervisors, and even Judge Andrus himself who admitted playing a role in video taping Senior Clerk Sarah Carver, one of the principles in the whistleblower lawsuit.  Still employed, Carver, along with master docket clerk Jennifer Griffith, blew wide open the skulduggery that transferred about 2.5 billion taxpayer dollars into the benefit entitlements of disability claimants who were merely numbers on “DB’s Monthly Lists.”

Army Email Labels Christian Ministries as “Domestic Hate Groups”

“A U.S. Army officer sent an email to dozens of subordinates listing the American Family Association and Family Research Council as “domestic hate groups” because they oppose homosexuality — and warned officers to monitor soldiers who might be supporters of the groups.

“Just want to ensure everyone is somewhat educated on some of the groups out there that do not share our Army Values,” read an email from Lt. Col.  Jack Rich to three dozen subordinates at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. “When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values – don’t just walk by – do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.”

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, told Fox News he was disturbed by the contents of the email.

“It’s very disturbing to see where the Obama Administration is taking the military and using it as a laboratory for social experimentation  — and also as an instrument to fundamentally change the culture,” he said. “The message is very clear – if you are a Christian who believes in the Bible, who believes in transcendent truth, there is no place for you in the military.”

The Army denied there is any attack on Christians or those who hold religious beliefs.” “

Growing Number Of States Eye Bills To Defy Federal Gun Laws

” On March 12 and 14, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed both Sen. Charles Schumer’s (D-NY) “Fix Gun Checks Act,” which would criminalize all private firearm sales and Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) “Assault Weapons Ban.”

These bills have a long way to go before they become law – if they ever do – but states across the nation are introducing their own legislation to preemptively defeat any new federal gun laws.

In Ohio, two senators have introduced SB36, which would prohibit firearms seizures, registration and bans in their state.

Sen. Jared Carpenter introduced a bill that would prohibit Kentucky from enforcing new federal gun control laws if they’re enacted.  The measure passed by a vote of 34-3.”

CNN CONTRIBUTOR COMPARES RAND PAUL TO KKK

” It’s bad enough CNN would give all kinds of broadcast time to a cop killer-defender who signed a petition blaming the Bush Administration for 9/11 (but didn’t really sign it). But CNN’s left-wing radical (who was too radical for even the Obama Administration that fired him) is showing no signs of moderation, professionalism, or even decency. Back in October Van Jones called Mitt Romney a “douche” twice on the air. Now, as first reported at Twitchy.com, Jones is publicly comparing KY Sen. Rand Paul to the KKK: ”

Five Facts About Sinkholes

” Which states have sinkholes? The entire state of Florida is prone to sinkholes since it sits on top of a layer of limestone rock known as karst, which can be dissolved by acidic groundwater, according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), other vulnerable states include Texas, Kentucky, Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee and Pennsylvania.

Are sinkholes common? Unlike hurricanes or earthquakes, sinkholes aren’t tracked. But CNN reports that from 2006 to 2010 in Florida alone, there were 24,671 insurance claims for sinkhole damage, totaling a whopping $1.4 billion.”

Bare in mind that Damon’s movie was at least partially underwritten by one of the oil producing dictatorships of the mideast … United Arab Emirates

Report Debunks Damon Fracking Movie

” The analysis and other health assessments have been closely guarded by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and his administration as the governor weighs whether to approve fracking. Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, has long delayed making a decision, unnerved in part by strident opposition on his party’s left. A plan to allow a limited amount of fracking in the state’s Southern Tier along the Pennsylvania border is still seen as the most likely outcome, should the drilling process receive final approval.

The New York governor is considered to be a potential 2016 contender. Cuomo has known about the report for months as he considered approving fracking. Fracking is a difficult issue for a Democrat considering a presidential future.

News of the report comes as Hollywood takes a tough stand on the issue.Matt Damon’s Promised Land, a movie about local, rural resistance to fracking, was released in December. The movie has not been received well and is currently rated “rotten.” “

Also bare in mind that fracking isn’t new :

https://i0.wp.com/mixplex.com/frack_files/gashist1.jpg

” Since Stanolind Oil introduced hydraulic fracturing in 1949, close to 2.5 million fracture treatments have been performed worldwide. Some believe that approximately 60% of all wells drilled today are fractured. Fracture stimulation not only increases the production rate, but it is credited with adding to reserves—9 billion bbl of oil and more than 700 Tscf of gas added since 1949 to US reserves alone—which otherwise would have been uneconomical to develop.

In addition, through accelerating production, net present value of reserves has increased. Fracturing can be traced to the 1860s, when liquid (and later, solidified) nitroglycerin (NG) was used to stimulate shallow, hard rock wells in Pennsylvania, New York, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Although extremely hazardous, and often used illegally, NG was spectacularly successful for oil well “shooting.” The object of shooting a well was to break up, or rubblize, the oil-bearing formation to increase both initial flow and ultimate recovery of oil. This same fracturing principle was soon applied with equal effectiveness to water and gas wells.”

What State Buys The Most Guns?

Background checks are only a proxy measure for gun sales. A buyer may purchase more than one gun through a gun dealer, depending on the local laws, once the background check comes back authorizing the purchase. ”
