” Former President Jimmy Carter yesterday said he is supportive of letting a known member of a terrorist group, Hamid Aboutalebi, into the United States as Iran’s newest ambassador to the United Nations.

Aboutalebi was a member of the Muslim student group who held 52 Americans hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran for more than a year beginning in 1979 during Carter’s presidency.

When asked in an interview if the United States should block Aboutalebi’s entrance to U.N. headquarters in New York, Carter told radio station WTOP:  “You know, those were college students at that time, and I think that they have matured. …I think it would be inappropriate for the United States to try to block someone that Iran wanted to choose.”

While Aboutalebi claims that he was not part of the initial hostage takeover, he admits that he was a part of the organization that carried it out. According to Iranian-American activist Banafesh Zand, Aboutalebi served as a translator at a news conference hosted by the militant group just weeks after the takeover. He was 22 years old at the time.”

Don’t Worry – The Government Says That The Inflation You See Is Just Your Imagination

” If you believe that there is high inflation in the United States, you are just imagining things.  That is the message that the U.S. government and the Federal Reserve would have us to believe.  You might have noticed that the government announced onWednesday that the cost of living increase for Social Security beneficiaries will only be 1.5 percent next year.  This is one of the smallest cost of living increases that we have ever seen.  The federal government is able to get away with this because the official numbers say that there is hardly any inflation in the U.S. right now.  Of course anyone that shops for groceries or that pays bills regularly knows what a load of nonsense the official inflation rate is.  The U.S. government has changed the way that inflation is calculated numerous times since 1978, and each time it has been changed the goal has been to make inflation appear to be even lower.  According to John Williams of shadowstats.com, if the inflation rate was still calculated the same way that it was back when Jimmy Carter was president, the official rate of inflation would be somewhere between 8 and 10 percent today.  But if the mainstream news actually reported such a number, everyone would be screaming and yelling about getting inflation under control.  Instead, the super low number that gets put out to the public makes it look like the Federal Reserve has plenty of room to do even more reckless money printing.  It is a giant scam, but most Americans are falling for it.”

New Study Confirms Economy Was Destroyed By Democrat Policies

” A new study from the widely respected National Bureau of Economic Research released this week has confirmed beyond question that the left’s race-baiting attacks on the housing market (the Community Reinvestment Act–enacted under Carter, made shockingly more aggressive under Clinton) is directly responsible for imploding the housing market and destroying the economy.

The study painstakingly sorted through failed home loans that caused the housing market collapse and identified an overwhelming connection between them and CRA mortgages.

Again, let’s review:

-President Bush went to Congress repeatedly for years warning them that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were going to destroy the economy (17 times in 2008 alone). Democrats continuously ignored him, shut down his proposals along party lines and continued raiding the institutions for campaign contributions on their way down.”

Not really news to us that pay attention , but still nice to see in print from a significant news source .

Our Great ” Racial Healer ” Is Wasting No Time

Obama To Unleash Racial-Preferences Juggernaut

If this all sounds familiar that’s because it is … can you say ” Community Reinvestment Act ” boys and girls ? For those that don’t remember ,  this policy , created during the Carter administration ,  turbo-charged by Bill Clinton and championed by the “community organizer ” crowd of Obama and his ilk , forced banks to make loans to customers regardless of their credit-worthiness thus fueling the housing bubble that led us to our current fiscal meltdown .

This is government at it’s ” best ” … create a problem , blame the private sector , demonize them and then step in with the ” Solution ” .

” If your organization has a policy or practice that doesn’t benefit minorities equally, watch out: The Obama administration could sue you for racial discrimination under a dubious legal theory that many argue is unconstitutional.

President Obama intends to close “persistent gaps” between whites and minorities in everything from credit scores and homeownership to test scores and graduation rates.

His remedy — short of new affirmative-action legislation — is to sue financial companies, schools and employers based on “disparate impact” complaints — a stealthy way to achieve racial preferences, opposed 2 to 1 by Americans.

Under this broad interpretation of civil-rights law, virtually any organization can be held liable for race bias if it maintains a policy that negatively impacts one racial group more than another — even if it has no racist motive and applies the policy evenly across all groups.

Equal Outcomes

This means that even race-neutral rules for mortgage underwriting and consumer credit scoring potentially can be deemed racist if prosecutors can produce statistics showing they tend to result in adverse outcomes for blacks or Latinos.

Already, Attorney General Eric Holder has used the club of disparate-impact lawsuits to beat almost $500 million in loan set-asides and other claims out of the nation’s largest banks.

In addition to the financial settlements — which include millions in funding for affordable-housing activists — Bank of America, Wells Fargo and SunTrust have all agreed to adopt more minority-friendly lending policies. ”

Iranian Hostage Crisis

November 4 , 1979-January 20, 1981

33 Years ago under the  leadership of another clueless appeaser America started the long 444 day ordeal that even now ranks as one of the most humiliating national moments in history . We are destined to a similar fate unless we can pull our heads out of our collected ” a**es ” and rid ourselves once and for all of the man who believes that we can negotiate with the ruling theocracy that controls Iran .

Does anyone in the photo look familiar ?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Our current ‘Leader” would have us believe that if we only give a little more , talk a little more , listen a little more to the ravings of this man and his unconcealed plans to bring about a world-wide caliphate that we could achieve a reasonable settlement with these “Holocaust Deniers “

Lest anyone fails to grasp exactly what appeasement , indecision and weakness gain us in the world we have this stark reminder from a time when the US was saddled with an equally ineffectual , narcissistic administration .

Can we really afford another four years of this kind of leadership ?

“Is 2012 turning out to be another 1980? After seeing and hearing the Democrats at their convention in Charlotte, it’s almost becoming eerie at this point. The sad truth for Democrats is that little has changed in 32 years.”

“There’s an unmistakable feeling in politics that you get when you don’t feel quite right about your guy anymore; those feelings were rampant inside Madison Square Garden in 1980 and again at Time Warner Cable Arena this week. The feeling is palpable, and it sometimes signals pending doom.”

Obama’s Approval Rating , that is

image

” President Obama’s job approval rating slipped to 43%, dangerous territory for an incumbent president.

Just as tellingly, those who disapprove of the president’s job in office rose to 51%.

Of the last eight incumbent presidents seeking re-election, only one had a job approval rating under 50% in June of his re-election year and won: George W. Bush at 49%. The final pre-election job approval ratings for losing incumbents (as far back as Gallup goes): Truman (’52) – 32%; Johnson (not on ballot ’68) – 42%; Ford (’76) – 45%; Carter (’80) – 37%; Bush Sr. (’92) – 34%. “

Full disclosure: I had a paper route during the Carter years, and when I got bored, I read the headlines. So I remember Jimmy’s term in office better than most people my age, because those
headlines were bleak and terrifying,
and left scars. “
