‘Six Californias’ Plan May Make 2016 Ballot

 

 

 

 

” A plan backed by venture capitalist Tim Draper to split California into six states has gained enough signatures to make the November 2016 ballot, the plan’s backers say.

  A Twitter account belonging to the nonprofit Six Californias tweeted on Monday that “#SixCalifornias will be submitting signatures in Sacramento tomorrow for placement on the November 2016 ballot. Stay tuned for coverage!”

The six carved out states would look like this:

 

• Jefferson: The northern part of the state, including Humboldt and Mendocino counties.
• North California: The wine country counties of Sonoma and Napa, as well as the Sierra Nevada region.
• Silicon Valley: Including San Francisco, San Jose and most of what’s considered the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Central California: The vast central valley farm region, including Tulare and Fresno counties.
• West California: Including Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
• South California: Including what’s called the Inland Empire of San Bernadino and Riverside, plus San Diego.

  The plan has met with resistance from California’s Democratic majority, and a Field Poll found 59% of Californians surveyed were against the plan, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

  But interest in the plan has been strong enough to send Draper and his campaigners to Sacramento — for now, the one and only capital of California. They’ll reveal the exact number of signatures they received on Tuesday in a news conference, according to the Chronicle.”

The “weapon” was a pocket knife that he had in his EMT medical vest . . . that was locked into the truck of his car. That’s right, in the latest example of the insane application of zero tolerance rules, the school officials called police after searching the trunk of a locked car to find a pocket knife used by a senior in his work as a EMT. He was then fed into a legal system that refused to show discretion in his prosecution. Notably, prosecutor Harold Specht ran for office based on a pledge that he would maintain a “hardline, zero tolerance policy” as a prosecutor. It was the perfect storm for Wiser: zero tolerance administrators handing a student over to a zero tolerance prosecutor. But it gets worse . . .”

Obama May Get To 57 States After All … Secessionist Movement Continues To Build

The New USA? Secession Movement Gains Steam

 

 

 

 

” If you mention the word “secession” most people think of the South during the Civil War. But today, a new movement is gaining steam because of frustration over a growing, out-of-control federal government.

  A number of conservative, rural Americans are taking about seceding and creating their own states, meaning a new map of the United States of America could include the following:

• A 51st state called Jefferson, made up of Northern California and Southern Oregon
• A new state called Western Maryland
• A new state called North Colorado

  These are real movements gaining traction with voters across the country. Jeffrey Hare runs the 51st State Initiative in Colorado, an effort to fight an out-of-control legislature trying to ram big government policies down the throats of voters.

” We’re at this point of irreconcilable differences,” Hare told CBN News.

  Secessionist talk has filled town hall meetings and the divide discussed is not just ideological.

” It’s predominately left versus right, but it’s urban versus rural because you typically find more typical conservative values in rural America,” Hare said.”

Secession Movement Spreads To California

Second County Votes To Secede From California

 

 

” Along Interstate 5 near Yreka, a Northern California town of about 8,000 people, the roof of an old hay barn informs drivers in bold, black letters they have entered the “State of Jefferson.”

For over 70 years, a group of citizens in Northern California and Southern Oregon have pushed to unite their rural counties and secede from their respective states, creating a new state following the small-government ideals allegedly professed by Thomas Jefferson.

On Tuesday, a second California county joined the growing movement. Modoc County supervisors voted 4-0 in favor of secession, following in the footsteps of neighboring Siskiyou County that made a similar decision earlier this month.

Modoc County Board Chairwoman Geri Byrne told Al Jazeera that public sentiment was strongly in favor of passing the resolution. In a packed public meeting of about 40 people, Byrne said only two people spoke against secession.

Her constituents, Byrne said, are “frustrated,” because rural counties have “no voice in the state of California.” 

Supporters of secession say that urban California holds sway in the halls of Sacramento, where both legislative houses are elected proportionally. Since California’s 33 rural counties make up only 9 percent of the total population, rural residents simply are not represented, Byrne said.

Liz Bowen, a member of the Jefferson Declaration Committee, said it takes six hours to drive through her state senator’s district. Senate District 1, which includes Modoc and Siskiyou counties, covers 10 counties. In contrast, Los Angeles metro area has 18 Senate districts. Without influence in Sacramento, she said, “So many laws, rules and regulations have been placed on us that our freedom has been eroded.” “
