BBC Mocks Admin’s James Taylor Outreach To France: ‘No Better Definition Of Soft Power’

This statement from the comments on the video sums things up nicely:

This is amazing. These people are amazing. Greg Gutfeld summed this up perfectly; he said it would be like France sending some mimes to Boston after the marathon bombing.”

#JeSuisCharlie – But You’re Not

” So much for national unity:

Just a day after the Charlie Hebdo shooting left 12 dead and had politicians calling for the country to unite, a row between politicians broke out after the National Front were not invited to take part in Sunday’s rally for “national unity” in Paris.

In the most recent national election in France, Marine Le Pen’s National Front won. So the national unity rally excludes the most popular national party. That seems likely to work.

~The French establishment is co-opting these brave men’s deaths for their own purposes, and for the most part the world’s media are helping them get away with it. I spent much of Thursday on TV and radio, and my irritation with the dismal #JeSuisCharlie campaign increased as the day wore on. The self-flattering evasiveness of all those cartoonists around the world offering lame variations of “the pen is mightier than the sword” was especially feeble. The cartoon at right, by Chimulus (Michel Faizant) of Le Nouvel Observateur, at least confronts the ugly truth of Wednesday morning, rather than tippy-toeing around it:

Mohammed publishes a comic strip on the death of Charb.

With plenty of boxes.

The only problem? Chimulus drew that two years ago – December 31st 2012. This week, when his remarkably prescient cartoon came true, his courage deserted him.

~As to those TV and radio appearances, first up was with Joyce Kaufman at 850 WFTL in Florida, which you can hear by clicking here. It was a lively ride: as Scaramouche says, “Made my day.” “

Read it all and treat yourself to a second helping of Mr Steyn’s blistering attacks on Western hypocrisy  , the opening of which is here:

” The French authorities killed three murderous savages yesterday. That was the only good news on a day in which a third hostage siege began in Montpellier. The bad news started at the top, with President Hollande’s statement after the Charlie Hebdo slaughter and the Kosher grocery siege:

Those who committed these acts have nothing to do with the Muslim religion.

Yeah, right. I would use my standard line on these occasions – “Allahu Akbar” is Arabic for “Nothing to see here” – but it’s not quite as funny when the streets are full of cowards, phonies and opportunists waving candles and pencils and chanting “Je suis Charlie.” Because if you really were Charlie, if you really were one of the 17 Frenchmen and women slaughtered in the name of Allah in little more than 48 hours, you’d utterly despise a man who could stand up in public and utter those words.”

Here Are 10 Outrageous ‘Zero Tolerance’ Follies Of 2014

“The war on childhood gets stupider with each passing day”

” Are your children safe at school? That depends on if you’re worried about bullies or administrators.  Here are 10 of the most infamous “zero tolerance” punishments handed down to kids—and even some adults—this year.

1. Student, 13, shares lunch, gets detention

A 13-year-old boy at Weaverville Elementary School in California shared his school lunch (a chicken burrito) with a hungry friend. For this, he got detention. Superintendent Tom Barnett explained, “Because of safety and liability we cannot allow students to actually exchange meals.”

2. Sunscreen not allowed on field trip—kids might drink it

A San Antonio, Texas, school forbid students to bring sunscreen on a field trip. Why? According to spokeswoman Aubrey Chancellor, “We can’t allow toxic things to be in our schools.” The children, “could possibly have an allergic reaction (or) they could ingest it. It’s really a dangerous situation.”

3. Kindergarten cancels its year-end show to allow more time for college prep

A letter home from the Harley Avenue Primary School in Elwood, New York, read, in part: “The reason for eliminating the Kindergarten show is simple. We are responsible for preparing children for college and career with valuable lifelong skills and know that we can best do that by having them become strong readers, writers, coworkers and problem solvers.” “

Black Friday Is Here, And You All Look Like Morons

” It’s Friday 28th November, a day that most people consider as ‘the start of Christmas shopping’. But in the States , they call it Black Friday.

For many years, the day following Thanksgiving in America is known as Black Friday, a day where chaos ensues all over the country. Why? Because most items in most shops are about 1 dollar cheaper than the day before.

Fast forward to 2014, and obviously, the UK has decided to adopt this tradition. Why? I don’t know. There seems to be a sale on everywhere nowadays, in most shops. Couches are pretty much free for the first decade and every high street clothing shop has a maze of rails full of price cut shite. “

Ferguson Woman Slams Protesters: They’ve Ruined The Community, It Will Now Be A ‘Ghost Town’

” Following the announcement that Officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted by a Missouri grand jury, riots broke out in the city of Ferguson, MO.

Sara Sidner of CNN interviewed one local resident, who expressed her concern for Ferguson’s future.

“ I mean, this is crazy,” the resident said.  “I mean, the business didn’t do anything. If they were going to do something, get the right people, if they have to do it.

When asked what she thought would happen to her community, the resident was pessimistic.

“ They’re not going to rebuild,” the resident said. “It’s going to be like a ghost town pretty soon.” “

Chuck Lane NBC Created Chelsea's Job

” Last week, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at a campaign rally for Democrat Martha Coakley and told her liberal audience “don’t let anybody tell you it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs.”

On Monday night, the entire panel on Fox News’ Special Report w/ Bret Baier eagerly mocked Ms. Clinton’s comments with Chuck Lane of the Washington Post joking that he “thought NBC created a job for Chelsea so there is at least one corporation that has created a job.”

Earlier in the segment, the Wall Street Journal’s Jason Riley profoundly condemned Ms. Clinton’s comments:

This was a clumsy attempt to critique supply side economics which this country is no danger of returning to under President Obama. What we need is a critique of Keynesian economics. That’s what we’ve been experiencing. Government spending as a stimulus. How is that going for us? The slowest recovery in a generation or two. That’s what I would like it hear her defense of.

After Riley pointed out that America needed to reevaluate Keynesian economics being pushed by Democrats like Hillary Clinton and President Obama, Chuck Lane piled on Ms. Clinton one final time:

But, she has made quite a few gaffes now since this unofficial presidential campaign has gotten underway. And this one is going to have legs. Because you can put it into a little sound bite. You can turn it into an ad for the opposition and you can repeat it over and over and over again. And it’s obviously not a sensible comment because she herself had to walk it back. “

Hillary Clinton: Corporations And Businesses Don’t Create Jobs

” At a Democratic rally in Massachusetts, Hillary Clinton’s attempt to attack “trickle-down economics,” resulted in a spectacularly odd statement.

Clinton defended raising the minimum wage saying “Don’t let anybody tell you that raising the minimum wage will kill jobs, they always say that.”

She went on to state that businesses and corporations are not the job creators of America. “Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs,” the former Secretary of State said.

Clinton’s comment will likely be used frequently to attack her as another big-government Democrat. She is seen by many as already running for president in 2016. “

What’s A GMO?

Published on Oct 9, 2014

” Critics of genetically modified organisms or GMOs claim that they pose health risks to the public. Jimmy is always interested in people who have strong opinions, so we sent a crew to one of our local farmers markets to ask people why they avoid GMOs and, more specifically, what the letters GMO stand for.

Ball and Thompson bewailed how due to “Senate dysfunction and NRA opposition, we don’t have a surgeon general right now….during a time when, we not only have Ebola arriving on our shores, but are also dealing with the mysterious Enterovirus, which is infecting and contributing to the deaths of children in the U.S.”

The two on-air personalities led their piece, “How the NRA is making the Ebola crisis worse,” by noting that “poll by Harvard found that 39% of U.S. adults are concerned about a large outbreak here, and more than a quarter fear someone in their immediate family could get sick with Ebola.” They continued with a lament: “If only there was someone around who could educate the American public about the actual level of risk. Someone who was trusted as a public health expert and whose job it was to help us understand what we really need to worry about and what precautions we should take.”

5 Ways Muslims Have Contributed to ‘Building the Very Fabric of Our Nation’

” Last Sunday, in his message congratulating Muslims on Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, Barack Obama wrote: “Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.” That’s right: he said “many achievements and contributions.” I could only think of five. Maybe you will be able to think of some more.”

” 5. Getting us here in the first place`

This one predates the United States as a nation, but without it, the United States would not exist. Every schoolchild knows, or used to know, that in 1492 Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue and discovered America while searching for a new, westward sea route to Asia. But why was he searching for a new route to Asia? Because the fall of Constantinople to the Muslims in 1453 closed the trade routes to the East. This was devastating for European tradesmen, who had until then traveled to Asia for spices and other goods by land. Columbus’s voyage was trying to ease the plight of these merchants by bypassing the Muslims altogether and making it possible for Europeans to reach India by sea.

So the bellicosity and intransigence of Islam ultimately opened the Americas for Europe – and made the United States possible.”

Read the rest of Robert Spencer’s piece at PJ Media and see if you agree with his assessment of Muslim contributions to the American fabric … We find it hard to argue against him .

FNC Shows Flashback To Obama Ridiculing Romney: ‘1980s Are Calling To Ask for Their Foreign Policy Back’

” Bret Baier opened a panel segment on his show Friday night with a flashback to President Barack Obama’s snide ridiculing, of Mitt Romney’s now seeming prescient concern about Russia’s “geo-political” threat, during the October 22, 2012 presidential debate. “The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the cold war has been over for 20 years,” Obama lectured.”

Newsbusters has the story on Obama’s Delphian foreign policy and does Obama really want to talk about economic policies ? The Congressional “Full Employment Caucus” is made up of some of our “finest” minds … LOL

” In addition to Conyers and Lee, members of the caucus include; Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.), Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), José Serrano (D-N.Y.), and Mike Quigley (D-Ill.). “

Anti-Gun Senator Makes A Fool Of Himself

Published on Jan 18, 2014

From Cato Institute

” Picking the year’s worst op-eds — an annual tradition in this space — wasn’t easy in 2013. There’s the Slate writer who announced you’re “a bad person if you send your children to private school”; the New York Times piece arguing that conservative Dallas “willed the death” of JFK (by getting a communist to shoot him?); and the fellow who worried that allowing more high-skilled immigration would exacerbate “America’s Genius Glut.”

If you’ve been losing sleep over the genius glut in American punditry, rest easy. That threat’s a long way off.

To narrow the choices and give this pudding a theme, I’ve decided that 2013’s malicious listicle will focus on the perverse affinity for executive power of our alleged “Thought Leaders.” In a year when presidential incompetence and power lust ruled the headlines — when record numbers of Americans feared big government — the leading lights of the American commentariat clamored for more presidential power. Go figure.”
