Cuomo Staffers Elect To Quit

” Disenchanted members of Gov. Cuomo’s administration, embarrassed by the worsening government scandals and convinced that Cuomo won’t be president, will soon leave their jobs — just as the governor is stepping up plans to run for re-election next year.

Several “significant departures’’ are expected in the coming months, sources told The Post.

“A lot of people are looking to get out. They’re tired and, frankly, it’s not the best place to work,’’ said a source with first-hand knowledge of the situation. “There’s a lot of abuse that’s involved in working for the governor, and more and more people are saying, ‘What do we need this for?’ ’’ the source continued.”

Bombshell Wednesday

” Well that’s what we’ve been promised. Not from the Obama campaign or the Romney campaign, but from Gloria Allred and Donald Trump.

TMZ is reporting that the Boston Globe is going to court to get divorce records unsealed in a case that Mitt Romney was involved in.”

” Not to be outdone, The Daily Mail is reporting that Trump’s bombshell may be divorce papers (presumably never filed) for Barack and Michelle Obama.”

Let victory come tomorrow and in November . Save the Republic .

“If a new poll taken by Democrats is accurate, the recall race in Wisconsin is closer than the conventional wisdom indicates. Democratic pollster Celinda Lake contends that Republican Governor Scott Walker and his Democratic challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, are now tied at 49 percent. The election takes place on June 5th and many believe it is a bellwether indicator of national sentiment going into the general election in November.

Here’s hoping for a good day tomorrow in Wisconsin .

“Turnout will be the key to Wisconsin’s gubernatorial recall election on Tuesday—and polls and early voting suggest Republican Gov. Scott Walker holds an edge over Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

Ensuring Walker maintains that edge is the job of Jason Pipes.

He is one of thousands of grassroots activists engaged in Wisconsin’s divisive June 5 recall elections.

Pipes, 38, drives a hulking 1974 Pinzgauer all-terrain military utility vehicle. Pro-Walker signs line the side of the truck, and the bed is filled with boxes of Walker yard signs and stickers. He sports a Walker hat and t-shirt.”

Cautiously Optimistic

Let’s all hope that this turns out to be an accurate representation of public sentiment . It would certainly remove a generous portion of candy out of the union’s pinata .

Recall ? Wah , Wah

Professor Jacobson has thoughtfully pointed out that the Wisconsin recall gambit is hemorrhaging support at an amazing clip . If you are of the left and you’ve lost the press you are doomed .

“No governor in recent memory has been so controversial. No governor in America is so polarizing. Everyone has an opinion about Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

Here’s ours: We see no reason to remove Walker from office. We recommend him in the June 5 recall election.

Walker’s rematch with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was prompted by one issue: Walker’s tough stance with the state’s public-employee unions. It’s inconceivable that the recall election would be occurring absent that. And a disagreement over a single policy is simply not enough to justify a vote against the governor.

A Marquette Law School Poll in January showed that many people in the Badger State agree. In that poll, 72% of Republicans, 44% of independents and 17% of Democrats said recalls should be limited to criminal wrongdoing. Republican state Rep. Robin Vos has proposed tightening the recall mechanism; he should continue to push for that after the election, regardless of who wins.”

I find the above referenced poll results concerning attitudes towards the recall mechanism particularly revealing . It gives one a fine indication as to who believes that they can stand on the merits of their arguments and who feels that any means is acceptable in order to get their way . Remind me again of the left’s commitment to the sanctity of the ballot box .

Martinez for Veep ?

Andrew Romano over at The Daily Beast presents a convincing case for the position of GOP veep to go to New Mexico governor Susana Martinez . I have to admit that , though I am not terribly familiar with her , there is much wisdom in the proposition. Read the whole thing and decide for yourselves .

An excerpt :

“Consider Romney’s vulnerabilities. He trails Barack Obama by as many as 56 percentage points among Latinos. Women prefer the president by roughly 20 points. Conservatives still distrust him, and populists in both parties suspect that he’s a vulture capitalist who likes to fire people. New Mexico’s Martinez, the first Latina governor in U.S. history, would solve each of these problems, or help as much as any running mate conceivably could. Within minutes of meeting me in Santa Fe one morning last month, she is speaking fluent Spanish, reminiscing about the .357 magnum she acquired at age 18, and describing her family’s mom-and-pop security business back in El Paso. A scout from Boston would have been very pleased.”

Update : Martinez has said that she would not take the nomination if offered .

This Wisconsin recall business has gotten seriously out of hand. I wasn’t aware that Scott Walker was facing a primary challenge in addition to the election . Needless to say the progressives have decided that two chances to unseat Walker are better than one and they are supporting a man named Arthur Kohl-Riggs in the Republican primary .
His platform is available for view on , wait for it , the Occupy Wisconsin website . He describes himself thus ” Arthur Kohl-Riggs: The Progressive Republican ” . That plus the fact that he is supported by Occupy should tell you all you need to know about his “republican ” credentials .
A brief description of the man , ” Arthur Kohl-Riggs, a scruffy-haired 23-year-old political activist who used to serve pizza at the Children’s Museum in Madison until a few weeks ago …” he’s also described as a “fake republican” and agitator .
If you approve of what Governor Walker has done in the state or just disapprove of the progressives endless whining , foot-stomping and attempts to overturn any election result that they don’t agree with then support Scott Walker Scott Walker .

PS: The left is all about rigging the game . This again highlights my post of a few days ago about why elections matter . Judges , Judges , Judges .
