Papa John’s Pizza Stands By Employee Who Shot Armed Robber In Self Defense

” Papa John’s Pizza is standing by a pizza delivery woman who opened fire Sunday on an armed robber in an act of self defense.

The pizza franchise told FoxNews.com Thursday the employee, who hasn’t been named, will not be fired from the company.

The employee was making a delivery in Decatur, Ga., Sunday night when a man approached her vehicle, forcing her onto the ground at gunpoint, according to the DeKalb County Police Department. The woman, who had a gun in her pocket, was able to fire at the man while on the ground — striking the alleged assailant, identified as 24-year-old Donquaz Stevenson, in the face.

Stevenson was later found in a neighbor’s yard and arrested, according to police, who said the pizza delivery might have been a setup. Local media outlets reported that a second suspect carjacked the delivery woman’s silver 2000 Honda Accord and remains on the run.

Stevenson was charged with armed robbery and was being treated for a gunshot wound at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. “

Okra Mistaken For Pot In Man’s Garden

” A Cartersville man is upset after he said investigators mistook a garden full of okra for marijuana plants.

The man growing the popular Southern food said a helicopter woke him up Wednesday and then he had deputies show up at his door.

” I was scared actually, at first, because I didn’t know what was happening,” said homeowner Dwayne Perry.

All he noticed was that there was a chopper sitting unusually low over his house, then Bartow County deputies and a K-9 unit appeared at his doorstep in minutes.

” They were strapped to the gills,” Perry said.

It turned out, that helicopter was from the Governor’s Task Force for drug suppression and they were out looking for domestic cannabis plants and spotted the tree and plants.

” Instead, it’s okra and maybe a bush on the end of the house,” Perry said. “

IG: VA Investigations Expanded To 26 Facilities

Gary Varvel

” The number of VA facilities under investigation after complaints about falsified records and treatment delays has more than doubled in recent days, the Office of Inspector General at the Veterans Affairs Department said late Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the IG’s office said 26 facilities were being investigated nationwide. Acting Inspector General Richard Griffin told a Senate committee last week that at least 10 new allegations about manipulated waiting times and other problems had surfaced since reports of problems at the Phoenix VA hospital came to light last month.

The expanded investigations come as President Barack Obama’s choice to help carry out reforms at the Veterans Affairs Department was set to travel to Phoenix to meet with staff at the local VA office amid mounting pressure to overhaul the beleaguered agency.

Obama announced last week that White House Deputy Chief of Staff Rob Nabors would be assigned to the VA after allegations of delayed care that may have led to patient deaths and a cover-up by top administrators in Phoenix. Similar claims have been reported at VA facilities in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Georgia, Missouri, Texas, Florida and elsewhere.”

Grand Jury Recommends DA Take Action In Euharlee Police Shooting

Christopher Roupe

Christopher Roupe

” More than two months after Euharlee Police Cpl. Beth Gatney shot and killed 17-year-old Christopher Roupe while serving warrants, a Bartow County grand jury on Tuesday referred the case to District Attorney Rosemary Greene’s office.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to investigate after the Feb. 14 shooting.

Gatney and a second officer were serving two warrants at 937 Euharlee Road, Lot 5, when Roupe answered the door with a handgun pointed at the officer, according to the GBI at the time. The officer fired, hitting Roupe in the shoulder. A source said Roupe bled to death before emergency response personnel arrived.”

Beth Gatney

” The GBI’s report was sent to Greene’s office more than two weeks ago, and a Daily Tribune News open records request has been filed for that report.

Euharlee Police Chief Terry Harget on Tuesday afternoon said he was not familiar with the grand jury decision and declined to comment.”

It’s about time we are seeing the wheels of justice start creaking along for Christopher Roupe . Ms Gatney’s checkered history in her previous places of employment should have precluded her from ever being an armed public servant and since the “authorities” failed to make that happen another young man full of promise is dead at the hands of the State .

Nathan Deal Signs Broad Gun Rights Expansion

” Gov. Nathan Deal signed legislation today that would vastly expand where Georgians can legally carry firearms, a proposal that has drawn heaps of praise and scorn from outside groups.

“ People who follow the rules can protect themselves and their families from people who don’t follow the rules,” said Deal, adding: “The Second Amendment should never be an afterthought. It should reside at the forefronts of our minds.”

House Bill 60, which passed in the final hours of this year’s legislative session, allows Georgians to legally carry firearms in a wide range of new places, including schools, bars, churches and government buildings. A recent analysis also said it could let felons use the state’s “stand your ground” rules to claim self-defense if they feel threatened.”

Murray Deputy Bit By Drug Dog While Taking Selfie

” A Murray County Sheriff’s Office deputy is recovering after one of the department’s drug dogs bit him in the face on Monday.

Maj. Greg Fowler said Brett Morrison sat down with the Malinois after several deputies and probation and parole officers had finished serving a large number of warrants. The dog routinely goes with officers during such events, Fowler said.

Fowler said Morrison wanted to take his picture with the dog, so he knelt down with a camera phone and wrapped his arm around the dog’s neck.

“ It’s an act of aggression to them whenever you do that,” Fowler said. “The canine just responded by what was presented to him based on his training.”

That response was to bite the lower part of Morrison’s face, ripping it up so badly he had to be taken to Hamilton Medical Center and eventually received several stitches, Fowler said. He said the dog’s handler didn’t have time to react before the dog attacked, but the dog quickly backed off once the handler gave a command to stop. Fowler said the dog is current on all of its shots and hadn’t bitten anyone before.”

11-Year-Old Building Tree Fort Says Officer Pulled Gun On Him, Friends

TREE HOUSE BOY

” A fifth-grader says he was terrified when a police officer pointed a gun at him and his friends while they built a tree fort.

Omari Grant, 11, said he and his friends often play in a wooded area behind his home and were building a fort when a neighbor in the next subdivision called police to complain about what the boys were doing.

But no one anticipated what Omari and his mother say happened next.

” I guess the release of tension was like, ‘Mom, he had a gun in my face, Mommy. Mommy, he had a gun in my face,’” said Janice Baptiste, Omari’s mother.

Omari told Diamant that two officers, one with his gun drawn, rolled up on him and a few of his friends as they built a fort in the trees behind his home.

” I was thinking that I don’t want to be shot today, so I just listened to what they said,” Omari said.

Omari said the officer holding his gun also used foul language and made him and his friends lay down on the ground.

” I learned that they’re supposed to help you not make you feel scared to even come outside,” Omari said. “

Officer Arrested After Allegedly Making Up Story Of Being Ambushed, Stabbed

Clayton County PD Christopher Russo

” An officer claimed he was ambushed and stabbed, but police said it was all a lie.

A McDonough police major told Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne he’s withholding comment on the motive for now, but the Clayton County officer has been released on bond on charges of false report of a crime, a misdemeanor, and false statements and writings, a felony.

“ Things just weren’t looking right. It looked like the burglary had been staged,” said Maj. Kyle Helverson of the McDonough Police Department.

“ Who stabbed him?” Winne asked Helverson. “Himself,” Helverson said.

Clayton County Police Chief Greg Porter said Clayton County Police Officer Christopher Russo has probably taken dozens of police reports in his career there, but he won’t be taking any for the time being.”

It appears that Officer Russo has other problems as well …

” In addition to the internal investigation into the arrest, Porter said Russo was involved in two on-duty shootings in 2013. Both were investigated by the GBI, which is routine under department policy.  “

19 States Join Lawsuit Against NJ Gun Law

” Support is mounting for a lawsuit that challenges New Jersey’s tight restrictions on handgun ownership and its high standard of “justifiable need” for carrying a weapon outside the home.

Nineteen states as well as the powerful National Rifle Association have joined the case’s plaintiff John Drake, who in his lawsuit claims he was denied a permit following a thwarted robbery attempt on his Sussex County business.

Drake lost his appeal before a three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last year and now a growing number of states, led by Wyoming, are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case, claiming New Jersey was wrong when it determined that the business owner failed to prove “justifiable need” to carry a gun under state statute.

Drake’s suit also claims that his right to bear arms under the Second Amendment has been violated.”

Teen Jumps Out Window To Escape Deputy, Who Now Faces Sexual Assault Charges

DEPUTY CHILD MOLESTER

” A teenager says she had to jump out of her bedroom window to get away from a deputy, who now faces sexual assault charges.

Phillip Richards, 42, had to be shown which way to go as he went before Clayton County Magistrate Court Judge Richard Brown.

One might think he would know his way around the courtroom since he’s a Clayton County deputy.  He’s a deputy who now faces serious charges that will keep him behind bars for a while.

” Under Georgia law I cannot set a bond at this time for aggravated child molestation. That has to be on a separate bond calendar,” Brown told Richards during his first court appearance.

Richards faces aggravated child molestation and another sex-related charge after police say he molested a 13-year-old girl. “

” An East Point man says he shot at the burglars he caught inside his home to protect his kids.

A total of five break-ins have been reported in the past month at the Landmark at Creekside Grand apartments on Redwine Road. Jason Bagley told Channel 2’s Liz Artz he “was hoping to be the guy to stop” the rash of break-ins.

Bagley showed Artz where burglars came in his home while he was asleep upstairs. “Lights off, my wife’s car was gone, someone was definitely watching us — not a good feeling,” Bagley said.

Bagley was home alone with his two daughters, an infant and a 2-year-old. “You can’t replace my kids. All I was thinking about was my kids’ protection,” he said. Bagley said he grabbed his Glock 19 and confronted the crooks.”

Former VPD Officer Faces Sex Charges

Cop Kiddie Porn

” Former Valdosta Police Officer Michael Linger, 43, was indicted by a Lowndes County Grand Jury for two counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children.

The Valdosta Police Department Bureau of Investigations and Internal Affairs Investigators worked with Investigators from the District Attorney’s Office and ICE Agents during the investigation.

The investigation revealed that this conduct did not take place while Linger was on duty with the Valdosta Police Department.   Linger, who was assigned to the Bureau of Patrol Services during his career with the police department, was immediately terminated from his employment as a Valdosta Police Officer on October 3, 2013.”

As we continue to compile cases of police illegality and corruption we have come across a common theme , that being the fact that no matter how heinous the crime a police officer is accused of there never seems to be a picture of the alleged perpetrator .  Yet one more double standard regarding the different treatment under the law received by the “elites” and by the average citizen .

Youth Softball Team Raffles Handgun

Softball Tean Gun Raffle

” A girls softball team is raffling off a handgun as a fundraiser and some parents don’t think that’s a good idea.

One person who only identified themselves as a disappointed parent sent Channel 2 Action News the flyer advertising a Taurus Judge revolver as the grand prize.

They believe this is an inappropriate fundraiser for a youth sports team, and some other parents agreed.

” I just think it’s not a good idea,” Diana Smith told Channel 2’s Carl Willis.

She’s not affiliated with the Georgia Heat Select ’05 team in Loganville, but her children play on the same fields at West Walton Park.

That’s where Willis found a wide range of opinions on the raffle supporting the group of 8- and 9-year-old girls.

” We play travel ball,” said Deccia Basti. “It costs enough as it is. You raffle anything you can.”

” People have a problem with just about anything nowadays,” said Kristin Hyers.

Amanda Allred didn’t see a problem as long as the weapon didn’t end up in the wrong hands.
“I think it’s perfectly fine. It’s raising money for a good cause,” she said.

Under “Meet Our Officers” on the Euharlee Police Department’s website, Cpl. Beth Gatney is the only one of nine not shown. The department took her picture down while she remains on administrative leave after she fatally shot aspiring Marine 17-year-old Christopher Roupe.

Euharlee police say Roupe was pointing a gun at their officer on Feb. 14 when they knocked on the door to serve a probation warrant for the teen’s father. But Roupes’ attorney says family members told him the teen was holding a Nintendo Wii controller.

Roadside Violation: Drivers, Passengers Say Police Searched Inside Underpants

GA Police Roadside Strip Searches

” Officers are supposed to pull drivers over for traffic violations, but a Channel 2 Action News investigation found traffic stops leading to a violation of another kind.

Driver after driver told investigative reporter Jodie Fleischer officers searched inside their pants while they were stopped for minor traffic violations. In several cases, the invasive searches targeted passengers who were riding in the car.

” He was like, ‘Just unbuckle all your clothes,’ and put his hands down inside my pants,” said Terry Phillips.

Forest Park police had pulled over Phillips’ wife for a suspended registration.

Phillips consented to a search. However on the officer’s dashboard camera recording Phillips can clearly be heard protesting when he realized the extent of the officer’s intentions.

” That’s illegal, man, you can’t do that. You can’t do that,” said Phillips to the officer. The officer continued.

Phillips filed a complaint with the Forest Park Police Department and hired an attorney.”

Hail Mary Auburn

Click pic to see Nick Marshall's Hail Mary throw & Ricardo Louis' AMAZING reception

AUBURN, Ala. — ” Auburn’s magical season continued Saturday with a big whew, an unbelievable catch and a one-for-the-ages 43-38 win over Georgia.

Nick Marshall’s 78-yard touchdown pass to Ricardo Louis with 25 seconds brought home a thrilling victory. The pass? It bounced off a Georgia defender and Louis caught it in stride racing to the end zone.

Whew? Whew. Auburn dominated the first half and enjoyed a nice lead in the third quarter. But Georgia threw a scare in the Tigers in the fourth quarter. Auburn survived, beating Georgia in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, and setting the stage for a big Iron Bowl game in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 30.

Auburn led 37-17 in the fourth quarter. Georgia closed fast, scoring 21 points in a seven-minute span in the fourth quarter.

Auburn improved to 10-1 overall and 6-1 in the SEC. Alabama is next.”

Army Veteran Banned From Daughter’s School After Posting

Picture Of Weapons Permit

This white principal is afraid of ...

” An Army veteran living in Georgia says she wants an apology from her daughter’s former school after being banned from the building for posting a photo of her concealed weapons permit to her Facebook page, WRDW.com reports.

Tanya Mount says she was approached by a police officer from the Richmond County Board of Education at McBean Elementary School and was warned that she was about to get a criminal trespass warning.

“I am a private person, however after serving OUR country, it is my DUTY to make sure that our lives are not infringed upon, however do it all within the confinements of the LAW, I am a law abiding citizen”

The officer told her that the principal at the school was “scared” of her and did not want her on the school property, she told the station.”

... This law-abiding black veteran mom .
