“No More Woof ” Translates Dog Thoughts To English

Techno-Helmet Can Translate Animals’ Thoughts Into Human Language

 

 

 

 

 

” A group of researchers from the Nordic Society for Invention and Discovery, based in Malmö, Sweden, claims to have the solution. It is a device similar to a helmet that is installed on the dog’s head, which monitors brain activity, translating the dog’s thoughts into human language. The device is called “No More Woof”. 

  According to the manufacturer’s website, the device is based on a brainwave reader specially adapted to interpret the canine thought, a tiny computer called Raspberry Pi, and a small speaker that tells the dog owner what the dog is trying to say in its own “canine language.” 

  According to the developer this would be“The first device to translate animal thoughts into English … Among the information, we have found patterns for “I’m Tired”, “I’m Hungry” and the clearly intense brain activity when a dog sees a new face, meaning: “Who are you?” 

  The system developer admits the device is still under testing, calibration and software programming. However there is already a prototype version costing $65.”

” Three police officers have been pulled from street duty for their safety in Southern California after a video of them shooting a dog dead as they arrested its owner hit the internet. 

A cellphone video that had more than 3.7 million views on YouTube by Thursday morning shows the dog, named Max, being shot after scrambling out of a car’s back seat through a window and lunging at officers who had handcuffed its master.

The dog’s owner Leon Rosby had been filming a police raid in Hawthrone California, and was arrested for alleged obstruction of justice.”

” Madrid – An Iowa woman was saved from a vicious attack by a dog which had ripped her nose off, when her husband leapt to her defence and bit the dog.

 

The Independent reported Caren Henry was assaulted by a 50 pound Labrador as she walked her pet beagle.

 

Caren described the attack which took place in rural Madrid to KDVR. She said:“This dog came racing across this yard, a big dog. It got me here and I had my sunglasses on which I’m glad I did because I think it might have taken my eye as well as my nose, then it knocked me down and then it went after my dog.”

” Tonik, an 11-pound, 1-year old dog available for adoption from the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group in Mishawka, Indiana, is looking for a loving and responsible household, preferably without children. He is part poodle, part Shih Tzu, and, if his photo is any indication, part human.

Yes, it’s true: Tonik’s face, at least in this photo, looks very much like that of a mildly peeved H. sapiens. Indeed, the resemblance is striking enough to prompt a writer for the Huffington Post to lead their story with,“It’s just one of those things that are like, ‘Whoa, dude.'” 

But how, exactly, did Tonik’s face get so . . . dude-like? Well, it’s true that humans and dogs do share some genes: our two species likely have a common ancestor dating back to the Cretaceous era. And it’s also true that Shih Tzus have been bred for their flat faces (many Shih Tzus have trouble breathing because of this). But Tonik’s humanoid visage has much less to do with canine physiology than it does with human psychology.”
