Southern Tier Towns Looking To Cut NY Ties

Southern Tier Secession

” The local economy is pushing one organization in Upstate New York to pose a question: Is it possible to secede to Pennsylvania?

The Upstate New York Towns Association is researching this very topic. The group says a few factors pushing its research are high property taxes, low sales tax revenue and the recent decision to ban hydraulic fracturing in New York.

” The Southern Tier is desolate,” said Conklin Town Supervisor Jim Finch (R). “We have no jobs and no income. The richest resource we have is in the ground.”

Finch said the ground in Conklin is rich with natural gas in the Marcellus Shale. However, that shale is unable to be tapped. He described this ban as a violation of his natural rights as a property owner.

There are 15 towns interested in the secession, according to the Towns Association. These towns are in Broome, Delaware, Tioga and Sullivan counties. The association declined to name the towns without their permission and also declined to comment on specifics at this time. As of now, research is ongoing. The group will be updating Action News with all of their findings in the coming weeks.

The association said it’s comparing taxes and the cost of doing business in the two states. It says the facts show there is a huge difference between the two. “

Police Investigate Gunshots Outside VP Biden’s Delaware Home

” Law enforcement officials have boosted security at the Delaware home of Vice President Joe Biden after several gunshots rang out from a vehicle speeding by the property over the weekend.

The vice president and his wife were not at their Wilmington home Saturday night when the shots were fired and there were no reports of injuries, authorities said Sunday.

Biden’s office said the vice president and his wife, Jill Biden, were briefed Saturday night, as was President Barack Obama. Biden’s office referred all other questions to the Secret Service. The vice president was set to speak Monday morning in Wilmington at a Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast organized by a minority women’s group.

Secret Service spokesman Robert Hoback said the shots were fired at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday on a public road outside the home’s secure perimeter. Biden’s home is several hundred yards from the road. Secret Service personnel stationed at the top of the long, winding driveway leading to Biden’s home heard the shots, saw the vehicle drive past the home at a high rate of speed and flee the scene.”

Maybe it was Jill on the balcony , letting loose a couple blasts to chase off some intruders … on second thought they better check the front door for damage … LOL

Twitter erupted with digital eye-rolls at Obama’s curt mention of the ‘tragedy’ that the Ukrainian government quickly called a ‘criminal case’

Boston Globe reporter Matt Viser captured the online reactions to Obama's statement about the downed airliner

” President Barack Obama provoked fury in the U.S. on Thursday by casually devoting less than a minute to the deaths of 295 people aboard a Malaysian airliner, as he began an often jokey 16-minute speech about the need to expand America’s transportation infrastructure.

There are no confirmed American dead, although it was feared around the time the president made his remarks that as many as 23 U.S. citizens had perished.

Obama declared in Wilmington, Delaware that ‘it looks like it may be a terrible tragedy,’ but not before enthusiastically declaring that ‘it is wonderful to be back in Delaware.’ “

This is what passes for leadership in today’s America … mores the pity .

” Nearly 20 million bees are swarming a stretch of I-95 after a tractor trailer carrying bees overturned in the area in Newark, Delaware, on Tuesday.

State police say the truck, which was heading from Florida to Maine, lost control and tipped over.

Here Is The Full Video That The School And Youtube Don’t Want You To See

” This is a video of my nephew Alec being beaten by a group of teens on his bus ride home from school yesterday. He was able to get off the bus at the next stop, 14 miles from his home. He went to the Magnolia Fire Hall and called the police.

The bus driver failed to intervene AT ALL. She didn’t stop the bus while the beating occurred. She didn’t call the police and file a report. She didn’t inform the administration that the beating occurred. Apparently, the bus driver called the school and stated that Alec left the bus early for no reason, according to the administrator that called my brother yesterday.

Of course, this morning, when my brother informed the school administrators that he had video evidence of the beating, the administrator now denies saying that Alec left the bus for no reason and of his own accord and that the bus driver stated that nothing had happened on the bus. There is some question as to whether the bus driver is related to one of the students beating my nephew. This needs to be addressed and either refuted or confirmed by the school administration.

A student had the video posted to his facebook page and linked it to each of the student’s accounts that were doing the beating. A friend of my sister-in-law made her aware of the video posted on facebook and when I was made aware of the video I captured and saved the video. Almost immediately after my sister-in-law contacted the school, and made them aware of the video on facebook, the link was removed. Fortunately, I already captured and saved the video prior to it being deleted.

I’d ask that every parent that views this video place their child in this situation and then act accordingly. I’d ask that my friends, both parents and non parents, share this video and contact the school. The school is Parkway Academy – Central. The principal’s name is Gail Evans. She may be reached by phone at: 302-730-8280 or by e-mail at: gevans@provcorp.com. Please act to ensure that the school takes appropriate action to punish these thugs and to ensure that they terminate the driver. No child should have to be attacked like this in school or on a bus ride to and from school while adults excuse and allow it to happen.”

 PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF DELAWARE

Delaware_Planned_Parenthood

” It doesn’t emit the stench of delirious, inhuman evil that surrounds abortionist Kermit Gosnell and his henchpersons, but conditions were quite fearsome at Planned Parenthood of Delaware, where filthy conditions put patients at risk of contracting hepatitis, or even AIDs, according to former nurses who talked with Philadelphia ABC News affiliate WPVI:

Jayne Mitchell-Werbrich, former employee said, “It was just unsafe. I couldn’t tell you how ridiculously unsafe it was.”

Werbrich alleges conditions inside the facility were unsanitary.

“He didn’t wear gloves,” said Werbrich.

Another former employee, Joyce Vasikonis told Action News, “They were using instruments on patients that were not sterile.”

The former nurses claim that a rush to get patients in and out left operating tables soiled and unclean.

Werbrich said “It’s not washed down, it’s not even cleaned off. It has bloody drainage on it.”

“They could be at risk of getting hepatitis, even AIDS,” added Vasikonis.

Both of these nurses said, they quit to protect their own medical licenses, stunned by what they called a meat-market style of assembly-line abortions.

Vasikonis said, “I felt I could be held liable if a patient was harmed.”

“Planned Parenthood needs to close its doors, it’s needs to be cleaned up, the staff needs to be trained, said Werbrich.”

Planned Parenthood got $542 million in taxpayer support last year – wasn’t any of it spent on oversight?

As a matter of fact, WPVI asked that very question:

In Delaware, abortion clinics are not subject to routine inspections. The state only steps in when they have a patient complaint. Planned Parenthood is essentially in charge of inspecting itself.

Mary Peterson from the Delaware Department of Health and Human Services said, “I am not going to lie to you, we don’t have the manpower to do routine inspections.“ “

Conn. Senate race goes to Murphy; Sanders, King win VT and ME

image

” Democrat Chris Murphy has won Connecticut’s bombastic Senate race, defeating Republican and former WWE president Linda McMahon. Combined with her previous bid in 2010, McMahon has dropped $100 million of her own personal fortune to pursue a Senate seat.

Elsewhere, it’s been a good night for the Independents. In Maine, Angus King has been elected to Senate, where he previously served as governor. In Vermont, independent junior Senator Bernie Sanders has won reelection.

Four other Democrats have also won re-election to the Senate: Bill Nelson in Florida, Sheldon Whitehouse in Rhode Island, Ben Cardin in Maryland and Tom Carper in Delaware. Meanwhile, in Tennessee, Republican Sen. Bob Corker won re-election.

The Senate races that remain toss-ups are in Indiana, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Virginia and Wisconsin.”

Long Island, New York – American forces, composed of Continental Line and militia regiments from several states, attempt to hold back a well coordinated attack by the British Army. While most state units gave a poor showing, often running away upon the enemy approach, this was not always the case. American General Lord Sterling commanding a brigade of Maryland and Delaware regiments, blunted their advance long enough for other troops to safely withdraw.
The men of the Delaware Regiment stand firm in the face of the British onslaught near the conclusion of the Battle of Long Island. Organized in January 1776 by Colonel John Haslet, this regiment soon earned the reputation as one of the best in the Continental Army for its discipline. It was also one of the best dressed units in the army, wearing blue coats faced red, a color pattern soon adopted army-wide.
