Boston Bombing Surprise: Officials Say Suspect Unarmed In Boat
” In yet another twist to the Boston marathon bombing, Associated Press reports that an official told them Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was unarmed when captured in a boat in a backyard. Dozens of reports had said he exchanged gunfire with police.
AP wrote that two officials told them Dzhokhar did not have a gun with him on the boat. This is surprising given the New York Times reported an M4 carbine and two handguns were found on the boat, that many news organizations reported the suspect exchanged rounds with officers and that other reports said his neck wound was self-inflicted. Further, Boston police and commissioner Ed Davies described a firefight taking place between the suspect and law enforcement”

Unnamed US Official = Unsubstantiated Report, covered by the article author. If it is a Tipster/Leaker, they are doing a grave injustice to America as in this case, it would only cause to strengthen those hell-bent on perpetrating acts of terror in America. Otherwise, until conclusively proven, that report is fabricated, as vouchers and inventoried items are particular to the case itself. Self inflicted gunshot wounds have a very high degree of blackening and burns from the point of impact and going out spreading a few inches at times. Secondary impacting of area from particle impurities and residuals of powder burns. Let me sum it up in my opinion. If, no guns were found within proximity of that boat or any lack of self inflicted wounding to the suspect, I for one, will not be losing any sleep over the matter. Look at the carnage, and the danger posed to the public. Let’s hope there is nothing of intelligence value that was lost as result of rights applied in sixteen hours as opposed to forty-eight hours allowed due to extreme danger presented to the safety of people having no other desire but to live in peace. Very possible that experience has jaded me, and I am in fact biased. Personally, I continue to wait because sometimes with these matters, there could be another shoe waiting to drop, and I do not like it one bit.
Brittius , the point is no so much whether he posed a danger or not , that is beyond question . The point is the accuracy of the reporting and consequently , the attempted demonization of guns and by extension , gun owners . It makes sense that he was unarmed if other reports are to be believed . Allegedly the murder of Officer Collier was an attempt to gain a sidearm for the younger brother , which failed due to a security holster . At the gunfight where older brother was taken eye witnesses say he charged police with pistol blazing and was taken down . That would leave younger brother unarmed . No M4 no pistol , no attempted suicide . Someone is lying . Media or authorities ? Who knows , but that just casts doubt on the integrity of both .
On those points, I have thought that possibilities do exist to demonize guns. Reports are flying all over but lacking credible sources because shields would hit the ground, and more that likely, criminal charges of Obstructing Justice, on federal level, would be resulted. The federal officers have Confidentiality Agreements signed and in force, so basically, anyone “close” to those events, if they ever speak, can be charged criminally. Lies, perhaps, I do not doubt that, but under what was happening at the Finish Line, it matters only that those two, are not at large. Aside from the gun owner aspect you raise, many gun groups failed at the opportunity to go public with the fact that the suspects were criminals and cared nothing for the word or rule, of law. All the more reason I yelled and yelled at that time to repeal all gun laws beyond the 27-words of 2A, and Stand Your Ground/ Stand OUR Nation. Gun owners can still resent media arguments if serious in nature, and bringing out facts relating to the Boston case.
